Hiking with Jetlag

After an indifferent night sleep we manage to eventually open the giant doors that allow us to go down to the breakfast buffet.
We partake of the rather Spartan choice of victuals including the very delicious ensemada, a pastry made with lard and filled with sweetened pumpkin, a Mallorcese speciality.

We are picked up by taxi and driven to the start of our walk, with a stop en route to buy our bocadillo for lunch. The weather is ideal and the years of extreme training pay off as we skip gaily and effortlessly(NOT) up the 500M ascent. (Note to self: must increase food intake to sustain energy levels for these Herculean walks). Unfortunately we forgot to pack the portable defibrillator which may come in handy on this “stroll in the park”. We arrive at the town of Estellencs too late to complete the 2nd leg of our journey and nstead fortify ourselves at the local bar with G & Ts before catching our bus to Banybulfar for a well deserved rest before a well deserved dinner in another

Cow for Ella

local bar.
